We are increasing seeing the desire to share network data through digital interfaces (APIs); partly because there are a lot of new parties that can start an FttH network initiative. Through APIs, network owners can rent out their networks to service providers. Because there are more and more initiatives, there are more and more APIs, which leads to a tangle of interfaces.
To improve the overview, in cooperation with Infodation, we started the initiative to build a generic availability checker. Network owners can offer their networks here and renters can see if there is a network available somewhere. The sources are certainly not limited to only Cocon environments, so all networks can be opened up.
We will offer the availability checker as a service and before the end of this year, it will go live with the first client. We assume that the Availability checker will help this network to be fully occupied.
