Energy Usage & Awareness at Speer IT
Our latest internal survey shows a strong commitment among colleagues toward sustainable energy usage. A majority (67.7%) use green electricity, with a notable rise in awareness: over 90% of respondents have monthly insight into their energy consumption. Electricity use varies widely between households, with an average of 3360 kWh per year, while gas usage saw a decrease to an average of 950 m³. Most respondents heat their homes using gas (CV ketel), although alternative heating like heat pumps and district heating is on the rise. Impressively, 63% of employees participated in the survey, reflecting strong engagement.
Home Workspaces & Energy Habits
The balance between remote and office work has stabilized, with most employees working efficiently from home — around 8 effective hours per day. More than half have a dedicated workspace at home, and 67.8% report powering off equipment at the end of the day. However, during breaks, 54.8% tend to leave devices on. Tips like using infrared panels or dressing warmly to reduce heating needs are embraced by many. The survey also highlighted energy-saving habits such as using LED lights and switching off devices in empty rooms — small steps that contribute to a greener work culture.
