The latest developments on the platform for telecom network management
It’s been a while since we gave an update on the latest developments in the Gridsz platform. It’s about time because more and more new functionality is added!
Gridsz is the SaaS platform specifically developed to handle all administrative processes in the management phase of a (FttH) network. Essential to the operation of any network is network utilization. Therefore, processes must be perfectly aligned and support the network owner in its ambitions. While Cocon takes care of the asset registration of the network, Gridsz ensures that the issues concerning availability and sales, after-connections, service and failures and all related communication between network owner, active operators, service provider, and contractor are perfectly aligned and the chance for errors is minimized.
Gridsz offers a single platform where all these parties can share their data and use workflows to handle their administrative processes easily, quickly and without errors.
The Gridsz platform consists of a growing number of modules that fit together seamlessly. They form a powerful system for handling all conceivable administrative processes. For example, there is the Availability Checker, which is a data warehouse that provides insight into the status and availability of the network with all possible details. And also of the parties that use the network or provide service for the network. In addition, for the operational management of networks there are several task-controlled modules, such as Fulfilment, which allows active operators and ISPs to completely handle the order management from installation and migration to post-connections. Or the Service module for efficiently managing incidents and communicating with customers. All modules can also be used separately and communicate with an external system via the open API.
We continue to develop the Gridsz platform according to the wishes of customers and new challenges in the telecom world. Below you can read about the most recent developments:
NEW MODULE FOR NETWORK CONNECTION MANAGEMENT: ADDRESS MANAGEMENT
In addition to the Availability Checker module, there is now a module that enables the assignment of a unique address code for the convenient management of networks in all countries. Our home base The Netherlands has the advantage for management systems that all addresses are unique and BAG registered. But that is quite an exception compared to other countries where unique addresses are not the norm. Non-unique rules are obviously disastrous for a reliable database.
In order to keep the database of connections in other countries clean, a new module has been developed: Address Management. A unique address ID can be generated per connection address, which helps network owners to create a clear and reliable overview of all connections.
CONTRACTORS GET THEIR OWN MARKET STANDARD: CONTRACTOR
Together with BAM, we are now working hard to develop a module in which telecom contractors can manage their own workflows and share direct – real-time – updates from and to network owners and active operators. In this way, Gridsz is building a platform that is market standard for fast and accurate communication between operators and contractors.
With Contractor, tasks such as ordering materials, applying for permits, civil works, etc., can be automatically generated and all managed in one place. Task lists can be customized and created at different levels, from contractor to mechanic, and including checklists, history and comments. The status of tasks can be seen at a glance thanks to the different colors. In addition, the complete administration, from prices and material costs to SLA and OLA, can soon be kept in Gridsz.
Because Contractor is linked to the Fulfilment module (formerly Task) where network owners and active operators manage their workflows, communication about tasks and statuses of connections and failures is direct and is updated in real-time, and is therefore without risk of incorrect information and miscommunication. This without having to build the communication links for the software between the parties first. The correct information is always available to everyone and there is immediate clarity on what needs to be done, saving everyone a lot of time and money.
What is Gridsz?
Gridsz is the SaaS platform developed together by Speer IT and software developer Infodation specifically for telecom to manage all administrative processes easily, quickly and error-free in one place. All the information you need, all the tasks that need to be carried out, and all this updated in real time for and by all parties. Well-known companies in telecom are already using the Gridsz platform, such as DELTA Fiber, T-Mobile, Citius Fiber, Open Dutch Fiber, Fiberklaar, CAI Harderwijk, and Wauwau.
